It’s that time of year again. The West Coast Beard & Mustache Championships returns to the historic Crystal Ballroom, and we’re bringing all our friends with us! If you made it out last year, then you saw a packed house, with friendly folks (even those without face fur!) sharing drinks, and showing off some fantastically creative beards and mustaches. All in the name of fun, as this has truly become a national network turned family. Come see some of the finest competitors in the world, from as far away as Alaska, Pennsylvania, the entire West Coast, and yes, the Austin team will be here again! Oh yeah, if you haven’t seen Whisker Wars on IFC yet, you should check out last season (West Coast BMC is episode 3). Then you should come down, and be a part of this next season, as they’re coming back to film this great day of fun again!
And as an added bonus of awesomeness, a few of our best friends, Mr. Steve Scarpa and Ms. Savannah Flansburg, who’ve both had a great deal of success at multiple competitions, are getting MARRIED at the end of our event, right on stage for all of us to be a part of. Bring the whole family down, as this truly is a family affair! And for the big kids (21+), they’ll be plenty of craft beer provided by the McMenamins to enjoy. It’s a known fact, that bearded and mustachioed men (and our lady friends) love to have drinks with new friends. Celebrity Judges, a photobooth, a wedding, and enough beer to fill the Ballroom; what more could we ask for! Kids under 6 get in free, and we’re having a raffle full of wonderful items, to benefit a PSU scholarship fund. Get your tix early, and help us show the rest of the world that Portland is the true capital of Beardland!
